2017 marks the 30 Anniversary of Black History Month (BHM) nationally in the UK. Lost Legends is an exhibition that celebrates the contributions of Leicester’s African and African Caribbean community to the cultural heritage of the UK over the last three decades. It focuses on the main social, cultural and political issues that had an impact on Britain’s Black community from first Black MPs to local cultural icons such as Lauren Atkin, Wolde Selassie to Leicester’s first Black telephonist Elaine Hinds…

Lost Legends is an exhibition showcasing local connections and their contribution to BHM, animated with a oral history archive, a publication 30 Years 30 Voices and a short film Lost Legends, BHM Remembered produced to accompany the exhibition.
